Two Cases of Ectopic Kidney

Abstract
Ectopic kidney is a congenital anomaly of position of kidney, which is congenitally displaced and has never occupied its normal anatomic position.
Crossed ectopic kidney is a congenital condition in which a ureter in te normal bladder position crosses the midline to an ectopic kidney lying on opposite side of the body. The condition is more common in males. Symptoms of this condition in
general
depend on the associated pathologic conditions and treatment being directed toward the complication condition rather than specifically toward the crossed ectopy itself. The clinical diagnosis is made by a combination of urologic and radiologic
technics
including intravenous pyelography, cystoscopic examination and retrograde pyelography.
Congenital intrathoracic kidney is a rare develomental anomaly and is least frequent of all ectopic kidneys. Generally it is incidental finding of a mass in the posterior lower thorax of a routine chest radiograph, mostly at the left side and of
male
preponderance. Most intrathorac kidneys function normally and require no medical or surgical treatment.
We report two cases of ectopic kidneys, which detected incidentally, with review of literatures. One case was crossed ectopic kidney, and the other was intrathorac kidney.
